A hypothetical re-brand of The Scottish Ballet. I thought that the concept of conveying the dynamism of dance was both a creative opportunity but also a challenge. It presented the difficulty of trying to balance typographic compositions with dance imagery, or using type and graphic means in such a way that the movement of dance could be conveyed without imagery. I used the strokes within my logotype to create a running motif across the rest of my identity, creating simple shapes to reference the movement and bodies of dancers. I applied the brand to ephemera such as posters, business cards and kit bags for the dancers. I also created hypothetical signage for their dance studios.
